Farmtopia Consortium Meeting in Lithuania
On March 13th and 14th, the Farmtopia consortium gathered in Vilnius to discuss the project’s progress and plan the next steps. A special thanks to our AgriFood Lithuania partners for hosting this productive event.
Highlights from the Meeting
Fartmopia’s consortium reviewed the progress since 2023, including the initial steps toward ADS deployment and the delivery of execution plans for our Sustainable Innovation Pilots (SIPs). We’ve also initiated co-development processes for the designated ADSs and completed user requirement analyses to define software component specifications for future development.
Looking ahead, we will continue with the planned SIP activities and prepare for the launch of our Open Call, which will offer new opportunities for stakeholders to engage with Farmtopia.
Event Attendance: Keeping Busy and Productive
AAlthough we are still in the early stages of implementation, Farmtopia has already been presented at 10 different events! Here’s a glimpse of where we’ve been:
- February: Our project coordinators from NEUROPUBLIC showcased Farmtopia at Agrotica Expo 2024 in Thessaloniki, Greece, the largest agricultural gathering in Greece and the Balkans. This led to some exciting media coverage, further increasing our project’s visibility.
- March: We were represented at the Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival, a satellite event with activities across 18 countries. Our presence at the University of Novi Sad’s Faculty of Agriculture in Serbia was particularly noteworthy.
Cultivating Innovation: Farmtopia Workshop on Intellectual Property
In January, Farmtopia held an internal workshop focused on Intellectual Property (IP). Hosted by Foodscale Hub, the session covered critical topics like patents, trademarks, copyrights, and other aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), equipping our consortium with the knowledge to navigate these complex issues effectively.

Fostering Collaboration: Farmtopia Teams Up with Sister Projects
Farmtopia is dedicated to forging meaningful connections with other projects that share our vision. We’re thrilled to announce our collaboration with several sister projects, engaging in a variety of activities in the years ahead. Additionally, we’re forming an Advisory Board to enhance our collaborative efforts.
Here are two projects we’re teaming up with:
- PHITO: This project is developing an app that provides personalized farming advice, aiming to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of farming. By fostering collaboration among farmers, consumers, and agricultural service providers, PHITO contributes to a more inclusive and environmentally conscious agricultural sector.
- GUARDIANS: Focusing on helping small- and medium-sized farms bridge the technology gap, GUARDIANS aims to deliver tailor-made, cost-effective digital solutions. This multi-actor, co-creation approach lays the groundwork for a more sustainable agricultural business model.
For more information, check out the PHITO and GUARDIANS websites, and watch the Guardians introduction video.
