SATA s.r.l. (SATA) is a consultancy company born in 1986. Nowadays, it counts on 50 associates, among which agronomists, biologists, chemists, food technologists and engineers, who work all over Italy.
SATA offers integrated services of consultancy and controls to all the stakeholders of the agri-food supply chain, following both the products and the processes along the supply chain. The supply chain vision and a multidisciplinary approach are the firm strong suits. Our services offer an added value for all the supply chain stakeholder who need to monitor, develop and innovate their processes and products. SATA’s main services are: (I) Technical services for the supply chain (integrated and organic farming consultancy and functional control of sprayers), (II) Consulting for product and system certifications, (III) Consultancy for compliance with mandatory regulations, (IV) Analysis of supply chain risks and contamination, (V) Training for the different subjects of the supply chain, (VI) Experimentation on different areas, (VII) Product enhancement services, (VIII) Second party audits and verifications of farms, warehouses, GDO points of sale, (IX) Field sampling, (X) Chemical analysis for contaminants and product research.
Role in the project:
Within the Farmtopia project, SATA will have the role of executor of the field trials. In particular, it will be involved in the identification of the farms that will be engaged in the project. The farms will be selected in the areas that are potentially most interesting for the project, i.e., characterized by fragmentation and low readiness for technological innovation. At the demo farms, SATA will design and implement pilot projects for digitisation. It will support the farmer in using the technology and study the best strategies to make the tech usable, accessible and integrated into the current production system.
