All Farmtopia Sustainable Innovation Pilots (SIPs), Together!
Farmtopia recently hosted the webinar “Driving Innovation & Building Synergies Across Sustainable Innovation Pilots (SIPs)”, bringing together representatives from all 18 Sustainable Innovation Pilots across Europe, together with other Farmtopia consortium partners. The session marked another important step in strengthening collaboration, knowledge exchange, and joint impact within the Farmtopia community.
Strengthening the Farmtopia Framework
The webinar opened with an overview of the Farmtopia framework, setting the scene for how Agricultural Digital Solutions (ADS) are being tested, validated, and refined in real farming environments.
After that, Each SIP delivered a concise pitching presentation, presenting their progress and demonstrating how digital tools are supporting farmers in improving sustainability, efficiency, and resilience.
From precision agriculture and decision-support systems to data-driven farm management solutions, the diversity of approaches highlighted the strength of Farmtopia’s multi-actor and pan-European structure.
Interactive Discussions: Co-Creation, Services & Business Models
The second part of the webinar focused on interactive breakout sessions, encouraging dynamic exchanges among partners. Discussions were structured around three key themes:
- ADS Co-creation Processes
- Farmtopia Services Integration & Application
- Sustainable Business Models & Value Creation
These sessions provided valuable space to explore cross-SIP synergies, share lessons learned, and collectively address implementation challenges. Participants reflected on farmer engagement strategies, service integration pathways, and long-term sustainability beyond the project’s duration.
Looking Ahead: SIP Open Days Across Europe
The webinar concluded with a forward-looking discussion on the upcoming SIP Open Days, which all pilots will organise before the project concludes. These events will offer farmers, stakeholders, policymakers, and local communities the opportunity to witness innovation in action: directly in the fields, farms, and real-life operational settings where ADS are being validated, across Europe.
Each Open Day will be promoted individually through Farmtopia’s communication channels.
